About Word to PowerPoint
Turn a report, outline or lesson plan written in Word into a presentation. A title slide comes first, then each heading starts a slide and the paragraphs and lists under it become bullets that keep their nesting, bold, italic, colours and links. Higher-level headings become section slides, tables become real PowerPoint tables, and pictures sit beside the text or on their own slide.
Pick one of five themes, widescreen or standard size and how many bullets fit on a slide — long sections continue on the next slide, and long paragraphs can be cut to their first sentence with the full text in the speaker notes. The preview shows every slide before you download. Nothing is uploaded.
Good for
- Turning a report into a presentation for a meeting
- Making lecture or training slides from course notes
- Presenting a proposal or project plan written in Word
Tip: Give each slide-worthy section a Heading 2 and the chapters a Heading 1 — the deck then gets section slides and well-sized content slides.
Frequently asked questions
How are slides made from my document?
Each heading starts a slide and the text under it becomes bullets. With “Automatic”, Heading 1 starts slides when the document has several of them; otherwise Heading 2 does, and Heading 1 becomes a section slide. You can choose the level yourself.
What happens to long sections?
When a slide would hold more bullets than you allow, the rest continue on a slide with the same title and “(cont.)”. Long paragraphs can be shortened to their first sentence, with the full paragraph kept in the speaker notes.
Are tables and pictures included?
Yes. Tables become real PowerPoint tables (long ones continue on the next slide with the header row repeated), and pictures are placed beside the bullets or on a slide of their own.
Is formatting kept?
Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, colours, links and list nesting are kept in the bullets. Fonts and colours come from the theme you pick, so the deck looks consistent.
Can I edit the slides afterwards?
Yes — it’s an ordinary .pptx with real text boxes, bullets and tables, ready to edit in PowerPoint, Keynote, LibreOffice Impress or Google Slides.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The slides are made entirely in your browser — your document never leaves your device.
