- Click Download EPUB and open the book in your e-reader app or send it to your device.
About PDF to EPUB
Convert a PDF into an EPUB e-book that reads comfortably on a phone, tablet or e-reader. The text is rebuilt from the page layout into flowing paragraphs, with headings, lists, tables, pictures, links, bold and italic, while headers, footers and page numbers are left out.
The book is split into chapters at the headings and gets a table of contents with every section, a cover from the first page, and the title, author and language you set. It is a standard EPUB 3 file that also works with older readers. Preview each chapter before downloading — nothing is uploaded.
Good for
- Reading reports, papers and manuals on an e-reader
- Turning a PDF book into a reflowable e-book
- Studying on a phone with adjustable text size
Tip: If a long book ends up as one big chapter, choose “Each heading and sub-heading” to split it further.
Frequently asked questions
Will the e-book reflow on my e-reader?
Yes. The text is taken out of the fixed PDF pages and rebuilt as paragraphs, so it adapts to your screen and lets you change the font and size — unlike a PDF, which keeps its page layout.
How are the chapters made?
New chapters start at the document’s main headings, found from the larger font sizes — or at every heading and sub-heading if you prefer. The table of contents lists the chapters and the sections inside them.
Does it keep pictures, tables and links?
Yes. Pictures are cut out of the pages and placed in the text, tables become real tables, and bold, italic and links are kept. Running headers, footers and page numbers are left out.
Can I read it on a Kindle?
Yes. Kindle apps and newer Kindle devices accept EPUB through Send to Kindle. Kobo, Apple Books, Google Play Books, PocketBook and most other readers open EPUB directly.
Can I set the title, author and cover?
Yes. The title and author are taken from the PDF where possible and can be changed, you can pick the book’s language, and the first page can be used as the cover.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
A scanned PDF is pictures of pages without text. Run it through OCR PDF first, then convert the result to EPUB here.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The e-book is made entirely in your browser — your file never leaves your device.
