Merge Text Files

Merge text files into one — in the order you choose, with file names or separators between them, and lines cleaned up if you like.

or drag & drop TXT, CSV, LOG or other text files here

How to merge text files

  1. Select or drop the text files to merge — TXT, CSV, LOG, Markdown, code and more. Put them in order with the arrows, or sort them by name or date.
  2. Choose what goes between files (a blank line, the file name, a line or your own text) and any clean-up: trimming, removing blank or repeated lines, sorting. The preview shows the result.
  3. Click Merge files to download one file.

About Merge Text Files

Combine many text files into one. Logs, notes, CSV exports, subtitles or code — each file’s encoding is detected, and the files are joined in the order you set, sorted by name with numbers in the right order, or by date.

Put a blank line, the file name, a divider or your own text between files, keep a shared CSV header once, and clean up the result by trimming spaces, removing blank or repeated lines, or sorting every line. The preview shows exactly what you’ll get, and nothing is uploaded.

Good for

  • Combining daily log files into one
  • Joining notes or chapters written in separate files
  • Building one list from many text exports

Tip: Name parts like part1, part2 … part10 and sort by name — they stay in the right order.

Frequently asked questions

Which files can I merge?

Any plain-text files: .txt, .csv, .log, .md, .json, .xml, .html, subtitles and source code. Each file’s encoding (UTF-8, UTF-16 or older Windows encodings) is detected, and the result is UTF-8.

Can I see which part came from which file?

Yes. Choose “The file name as a heading” and each file starts with its name, or write your own separator using {name} for the file name.

Can I merge CSV files that all have a header?

Yes. Tick “Keep only the first file’s header line” so the header appears once. For matching columns by name, use Merge CSV.

Can I remove duplicates or sort the lines?

Yes. Under Clean up lines you can trim spaces, remove blank lines, remove repeated lines and sort all lines alphabetically.

In what order are the files merged?

In the order shown — move files with the arrows — or sorted by file name (with numbers in the right order, like part2 before part10) or by date.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Merging happens entirely in your browser — your files never leave your device.
