Frequently asked questions

What bitrate should I use?

320 kbps or V0 for the best quality, 192 kbps or V2 for music that sounds identical to most listeners, 128 kbps for everyday listening and 64–96 kbps mono for podcasts and voice.

CBR or VBR?

Variable bitrate (VBR) gives better quality for the size by spending bits where the music needs them. Choose constant bitrate (CBR) for old players or exact file sizes.

Can I convert many files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like; they are converted one after another with the same settings, each with its own download, plus a ZIP of all of them.

Can I edit the audio as well?

Yes — every audio tool here has the full editor: trim and remove parts on the waveform, fades, speed and pitch, volume and normalisation, a 10-band equaliser, effects, noise and hum removal and a vocal remover, with undo.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Files are converted in your browser, so your audio never leaves your device. Some formats use FFmpeg (WebAssembly), which downloads once — about 32 MB — and is then cached.
