Frequently asked questions

Which formats are supported?

Open MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus, FLAC, WMA, AIFF, AC3, AMR and audio inside videos (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI). Save as MP3, M4A (AAC), OGG, Opus, FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, M4R ringtone, WMA, AC3 or MP2.

Can I convert many files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like; they are converted one after another with the same settings, each with its own download, plus a ZIP of all of them.

Which format should I choose?

MP3 plays everywhere; M4A (AAC) sounds better at the same size on Apple devices; Opus is the most efficient for speech; FLAC and ALAC are lossless; WAV and AIFF are uncompressed for editing.

Does converting MP3 to FLAC or WAV improve quality?

No — it makes the file bigger but cannot bring back what MP3 compression removed. Convert to lossless only when an app or editor needs it.

Can I edit the audio as well?

Yes — every audio tool here has the full editor: trim and remove parts on the waveform, fades, speed and pitch, volume and normalisation, a 10-band equaliser, effects, noise and hum removal and a vocal remover, with undo.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Files are converted in your browser, so your audio never leaves your device. Some formats use FFmpeg (WebAssembly), which downloads once — about 32 MB — and is then cached.
