Frequently asked questions

How do I cut an MP3?

Open it, drag across the waveform over the part you want (or type the start and end), click Trim to selection, then Save. Use Remove selection to cut a part out of the middle instead.

How do I make a ringtone?

Play to where the ringtone should start and tap a Ringtone preset — 30 seconds with fades is selected. Choose M4R for iPhone (up to 40 s) or MP3 for Android.

Can I trim precisely?

Yes — zoom in with + or Ctrl + scroll, drag the selection edges, or type times like 1:23.45. Arrow keys move the playhead and Space plays.

Will trimming reduce quality?

The kept audio is re-encoded at a bitrate matching the original, so the difference is not audible. For video files you can also copy the track without re-encoding.

Can I edit the audio as well?

Yes — every audio tool here has the full editor: trim and remove parts on the waveform, fades, speed and pitch, volume and normalisation, a 10-band equaliser, effects, noise and hum removal and a vocal remover, with undo.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The audio is trimmed in your browser, so your audio never leaves your device. Some formats use FFmpeg (WebAssembly), which downloads once — about 32 MB — and is then cached.
