Frequently asked questions

Which videos work?

MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, WebM, AVI, WMV, FLV, 3GP and MTS — the browser reads most of them directly and FFmpeg handles the rest.

Can I extract just one part?

Yes. Drag over the waveform to select the part, click Trim to selection, and only that part is saved.

Can I copy the audio without re-encoding?

Yes — tick “Copy the original audio track” in Export for an exact, instant copy (M4A for MP4 and MOV, MKA for others).

Can I convert many files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like; they are converted one after another with the same settings, each with its own download, plus a ZIP of all of them.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The audio is extracted in your browser, so your audio never leaves your device. Some formats use FFmpeg (WebAssembly), which downloads once — about 32 MB — and is then cached.
