How to crop a PDF

  1. Select or drop a PDF — the first page opens with a crop box.
  2. Drag the box’s edges or corners, type margins in mm, or click Trim white margins. Choose whether the crop applies to all, odd, even or only this page; flip through pages to check.
  3. Click Crop PDF to download the cropped file.

About Crop PDF

Cut PDF pages down to what matters. Drag a crop box over the page preview or type exact margins in millimetres, and see the cropped-away area shaded. Trim white margins automatically — one crop for every page, or each page fitted to its own content.

Apply a crop to all pages, odd or even pages, or a single page, and check each one in the page strip. Only the visible area changes, so text and images keep their full quality — and everything happens in your browser.

Good for

  • Removing wide white margins before reading on a phone
  • Cutting scans down to the paper
  • Trimming slides or figures for a report

Tip: Reading on a small screen? Trim white margins makes the text noticeably larger.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose what to crop?

Drag the corners or edges of the crop box on the page preview, move the whole box, or type the top, bottom, left and right margins in millimetres. The area outside the box is shaded so you can see exactly what will be cut.

Can it remove white margins automatically?

Yes. “Trim white margins” finds the content on every page and crops to it with the space you choose. “Trim every page separately” fits each page to its own content — handy for scans with uneven margins.

Can I crop only some pages?

Yes. Apply the crop to all pages, odd or even pages, or only the page you’re on — then move to another page and set a different crop. Cropped pages are marked in the page strip.

Does cropping reduce the quality?

No. Only the visible area of each page changes — text, images and links aren’t re-drawn, so the quality is exactly the same. The cropped-away parts are hidden rather than erased, so don’t rely on cropping to remove private information — use Redact PDF for that.

Will printing use the cropped size?

Yes. The page size itself is changed to the crop, so viewers and printers use the new size.

Does my PDF leave my device?

No. Cropping happens in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.
