How to add a watermark to a PDF

  1. Select or drop one or more PDFs — the panel shows a live preview of the first page.
  2. Type your watermark text (fonts, size, colour, bold, italic) or choose an image such as a logo; set opacity, rotation and position — or repeat it across the page.
  3. Choose the pages and whether it goes over or behind the content, then click Add watermark.

About Add Watermark PDF

Brand or protect PDFs with a watermark. Choose your logo or a stamp image, or type text, then set its size, how see-through it is, the angle and where it sits — or repeat it across the whole page.

Place it over the content or behind it, on all pages or only the ones you pick, and see the real result in the live preview before saving. Several PDFs can be stamped at once, all in your browser.

Good for

  • Adding a company logo to documents
  • Stamping PAID or COPY on invoices
  • Protecting proofs and drafts

Tip: Use a PNG logo with a transparent background so the page shows through around it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my logo as a watermark?

Yes. Choose an image — a PNG with a transparent background looks best, SVG and JPG work too — then set its size as a share of the page width, its opacity, rotation and position, or repeat it across the page. You can use text instead in the Text tab.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Choose all pages, the first or last page, odd or even pages, or type page numbers such as 1-3, 7. Several PDFs can be watermarked in one go.

Can the watermark go behind the text?

Yes. Choose “Behind the content” and the watermark is drawn under the page, like printed paper. On scanned pages, which are pictures, it is covered — use “Over the content” there.

Can I add page numbers or the date?

Yes. Type {page}, {total}, {date} or {file} in the text — for example “Copy for Asha — page {page} of {total}” — and each page gets its own values.

Does it work with Hindi or other scripts?

Yes. Text the standard PDF fonts can’t write is placed as a sharp picture, so any language works.

Does my PDF stay private?

Yes. The watermark is added in your browser and your files never leave your device.
