How to resize a PDF

  1. Select or drop one or more PDFs.
  2. Choose the new paper size (or “Same as the first page” to make all pages one size), the orientation, and whether the content should fit, fill or keep its size. Add margins under Margins.
  3. Click Resize PDF and download the resized files.

About Resize PDF

Put PDF pages on the paper you need. Convert to A4, US Letter, A3, Legal and other standard sizes or any custom size, or make a document with mixed page sizes uniform by matching the first page.

Scale the content to fit, fill the page, or keep it at its size and just change the paper; keep each page’s orientation or choose portrait or landscape; and add margins for binding or notes. Pages are placed as vectors, so text stays crisp — all in your browser.

Good for

  • Converting US Letter documents to A4 for printing
  • Making scans of different sizes one uniform size
  • Adding white margins for binding or notes

Tip: Printing a Letter PDF on A4 paper? Resize with Fit so nothing is cut off at the edges.

Frequently asked questions

Which page sizes can I choose?

A0 to A6, B4, B5, US Letter, US Legal, Tabloid/Ledger and Executive, a custom size in millimetres, inches or points — or “Same as the first page” to make a document with mixed page sizes uniform.

What happens to the content?

Choose Fit to scale each page to the new size with nothing cut off, Fill to cover the whole page (edges may be trimmed), or keep the original size and only change the paper around it — useful for adding white space.

Will the text get blurry?

No. Pages are placed as vector content, not pictures, so text and drawings stay perfectly sharp and the text stays selectable.

Can I add margins for binding or notes?

Yes. Add a white margin all round, and optionally a wider margin on the binding side (left on odd pages, right on even pages).

What about turned pages?

Pages keep the orientation they are shown in, or choose portrait or landscape for all. You can also turn pages in the Pages view first.

Is anything lost?

Form fields are kept as they look (filled answers included) but become part of the page, and clickable links aren’t carried over; everything you see on the page is kept.

Is my PDF processed on my device?

Yes. Resizing happens in your browser, so your files are never uploaded.
