About Deskew PDF
Fix scans that came out crooked. Every page is measured to find exactly how far its lines of text are tilted — up to 15° either way — and is turned back so it sits level, while pages that are already straight are left alone.
Straightening is lossless: the page is turned as it is, not re-drawn, so quality stays the same. Fine-tune any page with the slider, preview the result, hide the white corners if you like, and straighten several PDFs at once — all in your browser.
Good for
- Straightening pages fed crooked through a scanner
- Tidying phone scans before sending them
- Making scanned documents easier to read and OCR
Tip: Straighten before running OCR — level text is read noticeably more accurately.
Frequently asked questions
How does it find the tilt?
Each page is measured: the tool finds the angle at which the lines of text run perfectly level, between −15° and +15°, to a tenth of a degree. Pages that are already straight are left alone.
Will the quality drop?
No. The page is turned as it is — its pictures and text aren’t re-drawn or compressed — so the straightened PDF looks exactly as sharp as the original.
Can I correct the angle myself?
Yes. Select one or more pages and use the slider or the ±0.5° buttons; the preview shows the result. “Leave straight” keeps a page as it is.
What about the white corners?
Turning a page leaves small white triangles at the corners. Tick “Hide the white corners” to zoom in slightly so the page fills the sheet.
Does it work on text PDFs?
It is made for scans. Digital PDFs are already straight, so their pages are measured as straight and left unchanged.
Do my files stay on my device?
Yes. Measuring and straightening happen in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
