Frequently asked questions
What is schema markup?
Structured data in JSON-LD format that describes your page to search engines — a product’s price and rating, an event’s date, a recipe’s cooking time. It can earn rich results such as stars, prices and event listings.
Where do I put the code?
Paste the script tag into the page’s HTML, usually in the head. Then test the URL with Google’s Rich Results Test.
Which fields are required?
Fields marked with * are required by Google for that rich result; “recommended” ones improve your chances. The Checks panel lists anything missing.
Can I check the schema of an existing page?
Yes — “Validate a live page” finds every JSON-LD block on a URL and lists its types, including invalid JSON.
Is anything sent to your server?
Only when you validate a live page: our server fetches that URL for you. The markup you create stays in your browser.
