Frequently asked questions
What image size should I use?
1200 × 630 pixels (1.91 : 1), under 5 MB, as JPG or PNG. Smaller or square images are shown as small thumbnails on X and LinkedIn. Use “Check / crop a local image” to make a correctly sized version.
Why does my link still show the old image?
Platforms cache previews. After changing the tags, re-scrape the URL in Facebook’s Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn’s Post Inspector; X refreshes on its own after a while.
Do I need both Open Graph and Twitter tags?
X reads Open Graph tags when Twitter tags are missing, but twitter:card is needed to get the large image card. The generator writes both.
Can I see the tags of an existing page?
Yes — paste a URL under “Debug a live URL” to list its Open Graph and Twitter tags and load them into the previews.
Is anything sent to your server?
Only when you debug a live URL: our server fetches that page for you. Tags and images you add stay in your browser.
