Frequently asked questions

How do I speed up a video?

Open it, pick 1.5×, 2× or any speed in the Adjust tab (the preview plays at that speed) and click Save video.

Will the voices sound like chipmunks?

No — with “Keep the voice pitch natural” on, the audio is time-stretched so voices keep their pitch. Turn it off for the classic chipmunk or slow-motion sound.

How do I make slow motion?

Choose 0.5× or 0.25×. Slow motion looks smoothest from videos recorded at 60 fps or higher.

Which formats are supported?

Open MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, M4V, 3GP, TS and — after a quick in-browser conversion — AVI, WMV, FLV and MPEG. Save as MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, TS, AVI, FLV, 3GP, WMV or OGV with H.264, HEVC, VP9 or AV1.

Can I do other edits too?

Yes — every video tool here has the full editor: trim and cut, crop, rotate, resize for social media, speed, reverse, loop, filters, fades, text, logo, volume and export settings, with undo.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The speed is changed in your browser, using your device's built-in video encoder (WebCodecs) where available, so the video never leaves your device and there's no upload wait.
