Frequently asked questions
How do I compress a video to a specific size?
Choose Target size in the Export tab and type the size in MB (or tap 8 MB for Discord, 16 MB for WhatsApp, 25 MB for email). The bitrate is calculated from the length.
Which setting gives the smallest file?
Lower the resolution (720p or 480p), pick Medium or Low quality, and use HEVC or AV1 — they are 30–50% smaller than H.264 at the same quality (HEVC may not play on every device).
Can I compress many videos at once?
Yes — add several files; they are compressed one after another with the same settings, with a ZIP of all results.
Which formats are supported?
Open MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, M4V, 3GP, TS and — after a quick in-browser conversion — AVI, WMV, FLV and MPEG. Save as MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, TS, AVI, FLV, 3GP, WMV or OGV with H.264, HEVC, VP9 or AV1.
Can I do other edits too?
Yes — every video tool here has the full editor: trim and cut, crop, rotate, resize for social media, speed, reverse, loop, filters, fades, text, logo, volume and export settings, with undo.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is compressed in your browser, using your device's built-in video encoder (WebCodecs) where available, so the video never leaves your device and there's no upload wait.
