Frequently asked questions

How do I convert text to speech?

Paste your text, choose a voice and press Play to listen. Press Create audio file to download it as MP3, WAV, M4A or OGG.

Can I download the speech as MP3?

Yes, with the Natural AI voices — the speech is generated on your device (the voice model downloads once, then works offline) and saved as MP3 or another format. Browser voices can be listened to but not saved.

Which languages are supported?

Natural AI voices: English (28 US and UK voices), Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Vietnamese and Romanian. All languages: every voice installed in your browser and system, often 50+ languages in Edge and Chrome.

Is there a character limit?

No — long texts are split into sentences and generated one after another. A minute of speech takes a few seconds on a modern computer.

Can I use the audio in videos and podcasts?

Yes — the AI voices are open models (Kokoro: Apache 2.0, MMS: CC BY-NC 4.0 — non-commercial for the non-English voices). Check the licence for your use.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The AI voices run in your browser; only the voice model is downloaded. Browser voices marked “online” are provided by your browser’s maker.
