About PDF to Excel
Get the tables out of a PDF and into a spreadsheet you can work with. Tables drawn with grid lines are rebuilt cell by cell — merged cells included — and text set out in columns is placed into matching columns, so every value lands in its own cell.
Amounts, totals and percentages become real numbers with matching formats, ready for sums and formulas. Scanned PDFs are read with OCR, choose a sheet per page, per table or one sheet for everything, and save as XLSX, CSV or ODS — all in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Good for
- Turning a bank statement or invoice into a spreadsheet
- Importing price lists and inventories into Excel
- Analysing tables from reports without retyping
Tip: A long table spread over many pages? Choose “Everything in one sheet” to keep it together.
Frequently asked questions
Will my tables come out as real Excel cells?
Yes. Tables with grid lines are rebuilt cell by cell, including merged cells, and text laid out in columns is placed into matching columns. Each value gets its own cell, ready to sort, filter and add up.
Are numbers kept as numbers?
Yes. Values like 18,000, ₹ 1,200.50, (250) and 22% become real numbers with matching formats, so totals and formulas work. Codes with leading zeros and long numbers such as phone or account numbers stay as text. Untick the option to keep everything as text.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. Pages without text are read with OCR: grid lines are removed before reading so they aren’t mistaken for letters, and every word is placed into its cell. Check OCR results, as unclear scans can contain mistakes.
How are pages arranged in the workbook?
Choose one sheet per page, everything in one sheet (best for a long table that continues over many pages), or a separate sheet for every table.
Can I get CSV instead?
Yes. Choose CSV (one file per sheet) or OpenDocument .ods under “Scans and format”.
Is it safe for financial documents?
Yes. Conversion and OCR happen in your browser, so bank statements, invoices and reports never leave your device.
Why are some tables split or merged wrongly?
Tables are rebuilt from the lines and text positions on the page, so very tight or irregular layouts can come out slightly off. Check the preview, try one sheet per table, and tidy any odd cells in Excel.
