Frequently asked questions
How do I decode Morse code?
Paste it in the Morse box — dots (.) and dashes (-), one space between letters and / or three spaces between words. You can also use ·, −, • or —. The text appears instantly.
Can I decode Morse from a sound recording?
Yes — click “Audio file” and open the recording, or “Listen” to use the microphone. The tone frequency and speed are found automatically, even with background noise.
Can I tap Morse code in?
Yes — hold the big button (or the Space bar) for each signal. Short presses become dots, long ones dashes, and pauses separate letters and words; the speed adapts to your rhythm.
Why do I see # in the result?
A group of dots and dashes did not match any character — usually two letters run together without a space. Check the spacing.
Is anything uploaded?
No — decoding, including microphone and audio files, happens entirely in your browser.
