Frequently asked questions
Where are my notes saved?
In your browser’s local storage on this device, saved automatically as you type. They stay after you close the tab or restart, and are never uploaded. Clearing the browser’s site data deletes them, so download a backup now and then.
Can I have several notes?
Yes — click “+ New note”. Notes are listed on the left, newest first, with pinned notes on top; search finds words in any note.
How do I protect a note with a password?
Click the lock button and choose a password. The note is encrypted with AES-256 in your browser; nobody can read it without the password — and it cannot be recovered if you forget it.
Can I use Markdown?
Yes — write Markdown and switch to Preview or Split to see headings, lists, links, tables and code formatted. Download it as .md or as a formatted .html page.
How do I move notes to another device?
Use File → Backup all (JSON) and restore that file on the other device, or download all notes as a ZIP of text files.
