About Invert Image Colors
Flip the colours of any picture. A full negative turns every colour into its opposite, a black-and-white negative gives the classic film look, and “brightness only” swaps light and dark while keeping the colours — perfect for turning white-background diagrams and screenshots into dark mode.
Choose single channels for creative effects, blend the strength, keep transparency, and process many pictures at once in your browser.
Good for
- Dark-mode versions of diagrams and screenshots
- Scanning film negatives
- Creative and artistic colour effects
Tip: Use “Brightness only” on diagrams — coloured lines keep their meaning on the dark background.
Frequently asked questions
What is “brightness only”?
It turns light into dark and dark into light but keeps each colour’s hue — white backgrounds become black while a red line stays red. It is the quickest way to make a dark-mode version of a diagram or screenshot.
Can I turn a film negative into a photo?
Yes — a scanned negative becomes a positive with “Negative — all colours”. Colour film has an orange base, so you may need to adjust the colours afterwards.
Is transparency kept?
Yes. Only the colours change; transparent areas stay transparent in PNG and WebP.
Do my pictures leave my device?
No. Colours are inverted in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Can I invert the colours only partly?
Yes. Lower the strength for a softer, partly inverted look instead of a full negative.
