About Favicon Generator

A favicon is the small icon shown in browser tabs, bookmarks and on phone home screens. Different browsers and devices need different sizes and files, so this generator makes the whole set from one picture and gives you the exact HTML to paste into your site.

Start from a logo, an SVG, or simply letters or an emoji. Add padding, make it round or rounded, give it a background, and see how it looks in a light and a dark browser tab and on a phone before downloading. Everything is created in your browser.

Good for

  • Adding a favicon to a new website or blog
  • Making PWA and home-screen icons for a web app
  • Replacing a blurry favicon.ico with a sharp multi-size one

Tip: Simple shapes and bold letters read best at 16 px — avoid small text in your favicon.

Frequently asked questions

Which files are included?

favicon.ico (16, 32 and 48 px), PNG favicons in 16, 32, 48 and 96 px, a 180 px Apple touch icon, 192 and 512 px Android / PWA icons, a maskable icon, a Windows tile, site.webmanifest, browserconfig.xml and the HTML code — plus favicon.svg when you start from an SVG.

What size should my logo be?

Square and at least 512 × 512 pixels works best. An SVG is ideal because it stays sharp at every size.

Why does the Apple icon have a background?

iPhones and iPads fill transparent areas with black, so the Apple touch icon always gets the background colour you choose.

Can I make a favicon without a logo?

Yes. Type one to three letters or an emoji, pick the font, colours and shape, and click Create.

Is my logo uploaded?

No. The icons are made in your browser, so your logo never leaves your device.
