About Edit Image Metadata

Add or correct the information stored inside your photos. Put your name and copyright on your work, give pictures a title, description and keywords, fix a wrong date taken, set the camera name or add a location.

The current details are shown for each photo, and author or copyright can be applied to a whole batch at once. JPG and PNG files keep their exact picture data — only the metadata changes. Everything happens in your browser.

Good for

  • Adding copyright and author information to your photos
  • Correcting dates so albums sort properly
  • Adding keywords and descriptions for photo libraries

Tip: Add copyright to photos before publishing them — many sites and search engines show it.

Frequently asked questions

Which details can I change?

Title, description, author, copyright, date taken, camera make and model, software, keywords, comment and the GPS location — the fields shown by Windows, macOS, Google Photos and photo libraries.

Is the photo re-compressed?

No. For JPG and PNG only the metadata is rewritten; the picture data is kept exactly. Other formats are saved as high-quality JPG.

Can I add my copyright to many photos at once?

Yes. Type your name and copyright, tick “all” next to each, and save — every photo gets them.

Can I fix a wrong date?

Yes — change “Date taken” and photo apps will sort the picture correctly.

Are my pictures uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser — your pictures and their details never leave your device.
