Frequently asked questions
How do I remove VAT from a price?
Divide by (1 + rate ÷ 100). For 20% VAT on £120: 120 ÷ 1.2 = £100, so the VAT is £20 — not 20% of £120.
Which countries are included?
India, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Ontario, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, South Africa, Nigeria, the Philippines and US state sales tax examples — or any custom rate.
Are the rates always up to date?
They are the standard rates at the time of writing; reduced rates and local taxes differ. Choose “Other” to enter any rate.
