Frequently asked questions
Is my financial data safe?
Yes. Everything — transactions, budgets and receipt photos — is stored only in this browser on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account. Use Back up (JSON) to move your data to another device.
Can it read receipts?
Yes. Scan receipt (or attach one to an entry): the photo is read with OCR in your browser and the total, date and shop are filled in. Check the numbers and save — the receipt stays attached to the entry.
Can I import my bank statement?
Yes. Download your statement as CSV or Excel from your bank’s website and choose Import statement. The date, description and amount (or debit and credit) columns are found automatically, duplicates are skipped and each entry gets a category from its description, such as Swiggy → Food & dining or Uber → Transport.
How do budgets work?
Set a monthly limit for any category under Budgets. The dashboard shows how much is left; bars turn amber at 80% and red when you go over.
Can I make an expense report for reimbursement?
Yes. Under Reports choose the period and download a PDF with every expense, totals by category, signature lines and the receipt photos on the following pages.
Does it handle recurring bills?
Set Repeat to weekly, monthly or yearly when adding rent, subscriptions or EMIs — the entries are added automatically each period.
