How to convert CSV to Excel
- Select or drop one or more CSV, TSV or TXT files. The separator and the text encoding are detected, and the preview shows how each file is read.
- Choose whether several files go into one workbook (a sheet each) or one workbook each, whether the first row is a header, and how numbers and dates are written in your file.
- Click Convert to Excel to download the .xlsx (or .xls / .ods) file.
About CSV to Excel
Convert CSV files into proper Excel workbooks. The separator (comma, semicolon, tab or pipe) and the text encoding are detected, so accents and other alphabets come through correctly, and numbers, amounts, percentages and dates become real Excel values with matching formats.
Codes with leading zeros, phone numbers and long IDs stay exactly as written. The header row is bold, frozen and filterable, columns are sized to fit, and several CSV files can become sheets of one workbook. Save as .xlsx, .xls or .ods — nothing is uploaded.
Good for
- Opening exports from banks, shops and CRMs in Excel
- Combining several CSV reports into one workbook
- Keeping product codes and phone numbers intact
Tip: If a European CSV shows amounts as text, choose the comma as the decimal mark.
Frequently asked questions
Will numbers and dates be real Excel values?
Yes. Numbers, amounts with currency signs, percentages, dates and TRUE/FALSE become values Excel can calculate with, sort and filter — with matching number formats. Untick the option to keep everything as text.
Will leading zeros be kept?
Yes. Values like 00123, phone numbers starting with + or 0, and long ID or card numbers stay text, so nothing is lost or turned into scientific notation.
My CSV uses semicolons and decimal commas. Does that work?
Yes. The separator is detected automatically, and you can choose the comma as the decimal mark so 1.234,56 becomes 1234.56.
Are accents and other alphabets read correctly?
Yes. UTF-8, UTF-16 and older Windows (ANSI) files are recognised, so names with accents, ₹, Hindi or Chinese text come through correctly.
Can I combine several CSV files into one Excel workbook?
Yes. Each CSV becomes a sheet named after the file, in the order you set with the arrows. Or choose to get one workbook per file.
What does “first row is a header” do?
The first row is made bold, frozen at the top while you scroll, and gets filter buttons — and it is never turned into numbers or dates.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser — your data never leaves your device.
