Frequently asked questions

Which PINs are avoided?

The most-used PINs (1234, 1111, 0000, 1212, 7777 …), sequences like 1234 or 9876, repeats like 1111 or 1212, and — if you choose — years and dates that look like birthdays.

Does avoiding them make the PIN weaker?

Hardly: a 4-digit PIN still has over 9,000 possibilities, but attackers’ first guesses no longer work. The tool shows the exact count.

Can I create many unique PINs?

Yes — up to 1,000 at once with no duplicates, ready to copy or download for vouchers, lockers or door codes.

Is it private?

Yes. Everything is generated or calculated in your browser with the Web Crypto API — nothing you type is uploaded, logged or put in share links.

Is a 6-digit PIN much safer than 4 digits?

Yes — there are 1,000,000 six-digit combinations instead of 10,000, so it is 100 times harder to guess at random.
