Frequently asked questions

What day of the week was I born?

Pick your birth date — the weekday appears instantly, with the same date in the following years so you can see which weekday your birthday falls on.

How does the calculator work?

It counts the days from a fixed reference date. Every ordinary year shifts a date by one weekday (365 = 52 weeks + 1 day) and a leap year by two.

Can I check many dates at once?

Yes — open “Many dates”, paste a list in any format (15/08/1947, July 20 1969, 2000-01-01) and get the weekday of each.

Does it work for old dates?

Yes, using the proleptic Gregorian calendar (the modern calendar extended backwards). Dates before 1582 in historical sources may use the Julian calendar.

What is a leap year?

A year with 366 days, adding 29 February. It happens every 4 years, except years divisible by 100 that aren't divisible by 400 — so 2000 was a leap year but 1900 wasn't.
