URL Encode / Decode

Fix links full of %20 and %2F, encode values safely for a query string, or read a long URL's parameters.

How to encode or decode a URL

  1. Paste a URL or text.
  2. Choose Encode or Decode and the type of encoding.
  3. Copy the result, or read the URL parts and parameters.

About URL Encode/Decode

Encode or decode URLs and query strings.

Everything works in your browser, so it is instant and private, and your settings are remembered on this device.

Good for

  • Building links with query parameters
  • Reading tracking and redirect links
  • Debugging API requests

Tip: Encode each parameter value with “Component”, not the whole URL — otherwise & and = inside values break the link.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the encodings?

“Component” encodes everything except letters, digits and - _ . ~ — use it for one query value. “Full URL” keeps : / ? & = # so the link still works. “Form data” writes spaces as +.

Why do I see %20 or + in links?

Both stand for a space: %20 is standard percent-encoding, + is used in form data and query strings. Turn on “Treat + as a space” when decoding form data.

Can it decode a URL that was encoded twice?

Yes — turn on “Decode repeatedly”, so %2520 becomes %20 and then a space.

Can I see the parameters of a long link?

Yes — paste any URL and open “URL parts” to see each query parameter decoded in a table and copy them as JSON.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Everything is processed by JavaScript in your browser — nothing you paste or open is sent to a server, so it is safe for API responses, tokens, configs and customer data. It also works offline once the page has loaded.
