Your files
This is the part that matters most, so let’s start here. The PDFs, images, documents and text you use with our tools are processed on your own device, inside your browser. That includes the AI image tools (background and watermark removal, upscaling, colourising, text recognition): your browser downloads the AI model once, then runs it on your own device. They are not uploaded to us, and we can’t see, store or share them, because we never have them.
A few tools can only work by talking to the internet, and each one says so with a blue label on its page:
- Domain and link checks (DNS, WHOIS, SSL, port and HTTP header lookups, the redirect checker) send only the domain, address or link you type.
- VAT and tax ID validators send only the number you type, and only when you ask for a live check.
- Keyword suggestions and the YouTube tag and thumbnail tools send only the keyword or video link you type.
- The password strength checker’s leak check sends just the first 5 characters of a scrambled code (a hash) of your password to Have I Been Pwned — never the password itself.
- Translate PDF sends the text you want translated to Google Translate.
- The currency converter downloads live exchange rates, the world clock checks the exact time, and the Internet Speed Test and What Is My IP talk to Cloudflare’s public servers. None of these send anything you type.
None of them ever receives a file.
What we collect, and why
- Nothing, to use a tool. Every tool works without an account, so we don’t ask for your name, email or a password just to get something done.
- A little, if you choose to sign in. Signing in with Google is optional. If you do, we store the basics Google shares — your name, email address and profile picture — so we can recognise your account and keep your pinned tools in sync across devices. We never see your Google password.
- Your preferences, on your device. Light or dark mode, your pinned and recently used tools, and settings inside tools (like the cities in World Clock) are saved in your browser’s local storage. If you’re signed in, your pinned tools are also saved to your account so they follow you.
- My files, on your device. When you download a result from a tool, a copy is kept in your browser so you can find it again under My files. It never leaves your device. You can delete any file, clear them all, or switch this off on the My files page.
- Simple, anonymous usage counts. We count which tools get used and roughly which country the visit came from, so we know what to improve next. The country is worked out in memory from your connection and the IP address itself is thrown away — never stored. These counts never include your files or anything inside them.
- Tool ratings. When you answer “Was this tool helpful?”, we store only the star count for that tool. Not who gave it.
When you write to us
If you use Report an issue or the contact form, we keep what you send so we can look into it and reply: your message, the page you were on, your browser and window size, your language, and the email address you give us (it’s optional for reports). A screenshot is attached only if you choose to keep it — you can see it first, black out anything private, swap it or remove it before sending. The files open in a tool are never attached. We delete reports once they’ve served their purpose, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Sponsors and donations
Brands that sponsor a slot appear as a logo and a link in the strip on the right of the page. There are no tracking pixels or third-party ad scripts behind them. We simply count, per day, how many times the strip was shown and how often each sponsor was clicked — nothing that identifies you. Sponsors can see those totals for their own listing.
If you kindly leave a tip, it’s handled entirely by the service you choose (Buy Me a Coffee, Ko-fi, PayPal or your UPI app) under its own privacy policy. We never see your card or bank details. If a brand asks us for a sponsor slot, we keep the details they give us — their name, email, brand, link and logo — to arrange and run the listing.
We don’t show Google ads today. If we ever do, we’ll update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Cookies and local storage
We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. What we do store in your browser is limited to your preferences, your pinned and recent tools, offline copies of tool pages (so they keep working without a connection), and — only if you sign in — a login token that keeps you signed in. You can clear all of it at any time from your browser settings.
Who else is involved
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. Ever. A few features rely on trusted services, and each one sees only what it needs to do its job: Google Sign-In (only if you choose to sign in), Google Translate (only in Translate PDF), Cloudflare (only in the Internet Speed Test), and the tipping service you pick if you decide to support us.
Keeping things safe
Because your files stay on your device, the most sensitive things you work with never travel to us at all. The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and account sessions use signed tokens that expire.
Your choices
You can use every tool without ever signing in. If you have signed in and would like your account or a report you sent removed, just get in touch and we’ll delete it. Clearing your browser data removes everything stored on your device straight away.
Children
MyRoutineTool isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has shared something with us, let us know and we’ll remove it.
When this policy changes
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. For anything significant, we’ll make it clear on the site too.
