About NEET Photo Size
The NEET UG application asks for a recent colour passport-size photo on a white background, with the face covering about 80% of the photo and both ears visible, as a JPG of 10–200 KB. Add a photo and the tool frames, cleans and saves it to those rules.
The same preset works for JEE Main and CUET, which use the NTA rules too. Use Resize Signature for the signature. Your photo stays in your browser.
Good for
- NEET UG application forms
- JEE Main and CUET (NTA) forms
- Correcting a rejected photo
Tip: Use the same photo on the form and on the day of the exam — NTA asks you to bring identical copies.
Frequently asked questions
What photo does NEET UG ask for?
A recent colour passport-size photo (about 3.5 × 4.5 cm) on a white background, with the face covering about 80% of the photo and both ears visible, as a JPG of 10 KB to 200 KB. Check the information bulletin of your year — the values can change.
Is the postcard-size photo also needed?
Some NTA exams also ask for a 4 × 6 inch postcard-size photo. Choose “NEET / NTA postcard size” in the document list — the same photo is framed for 4 × 6 inches and saved within the KB limit.
How is my face positioned?
The face is found automatically and the photo is framed so your head (chin to crown) has the size the rules ask for, with the right space above it. Drag the photo or use the zoom slider to fine-tune — the guide lines show where the crown and chin should be.
Can I change the background?
Yes. The person is separated from the background in your browser, and the background is replaced with white, off-white, light grey, blue, red or any colour. Choose “Keep the photo’s own” if your wall is already plain.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Face detection, background replacement and everything else run in your browser — your photo never leaves your device.
Why must my ears be visible?
The NTA asks for a clear, front-facing photo with the full face visible, including the ears. Tie your hair back and avoid caps or anything that covers your face.
