About Image Upscaler
Make small or low-resolution pictures bigger without the blur. An AI model trained on millions of photos rebuilds edges and texture as it enlarges the picture 2, 3 or 4 times — and runs on your own device, so nothing is uploaded.
Click any part of the picture to compare the normal resize with the AI result at full zoom. Use the fast mode for very large pictures, add extra sharpening if you like, and save as PNG, JPG or WebP — one picture or a whole batch.
Good for
- Enlarging old or small photos for printing
- Improving low-resolution product pictures and logos
- Making screenshots and artwork sharper for presentations
Tip: Upscale before you crop: the AI has more detail to work with.
Frequently asked questions
How does AI upscaling differ from resizing?
Normal resizing only stretches the pixels, so the picture gets blurry. The AI model (Real-ESRGAN) adds sharp edges and fine detail and removes JPEG blockiness while enlarging.
How large can the result be?
Up to about 64 megapixels (for example 8000 × 8000). Bigger results are reduced to fit in your browser’s memory.
How long does it take?
Small pictures take a few seconds; large ones can take a few minutes, depending on your device. Browsers with WebGPU are much faster.
Are my pictures uploaded to a server?
No. The AI runs in your browser on your own device. Only the AI model itself is downloaded the first time; your pictures never leave your device.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After the first use the model is kept in your browser, so it starts at once next time and works without an internet connection.
Why does the result still look soft?
AI upscaling sharpens edges and textures but can't recover detail that was never captured. Very blurry or heavily compressed originals improve less — 2× usually looks most natural.
