About AI to PNG
Open Adobe Illustrator files without Illustrator. Most .ai files contain a PDF-compatible copy of the artwork, which is drawn in your browser at the resolution you choose — 72 DPI for screens up to 600 DPI for large prints — with the background kept transparent.
Save the first artboard or every page as separate images, as PNG, JPG, WebP or TIFF, and convert several files at once. Nothing is uploaded, so client artwork stays private.
Good for
- Previewing and sharing Illustrator artwork without Illustrator
- Getting logos as PNG for websites and documents
- Exporting artboards at print resolution
Tip: Choose 300 DPI for print and PNG to keep the transparent background.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Adobe Illustrator?
No. Illustrator saves a PDF-compatible copy inside most .ai files, and that copy is drawn right in your browser.
Which AI files work?
Files saved with “Create PDF Compatible File” turned on — the default in Illustrator CS and later. Very old AI files (version 8 and earlier) are PostScript and can’t be opened; save them again from Illustrator.
What resolution should I choose?
72–150 DPI for screens and the web, 300 DPI for printing, 600 DPI for large prints. The DPI is also written into the PNG.
Is the background transparent?
Yes. Areas without artwork stay transparent in PNG and WebP. Choose JPG with a background colour if you need a solid one.
Can I convert every artboard?
Yes. Choose “All pages” and each artboard becomes its own image.
Are my designs uploaded?
No. The conversion happens in your browser, so your artwork stays on your device.
