  1. Select or drop a front-facing photo.

  3. Click Make photo and download the photo and print sheet.

About PAN Card Photo Size

A PAN card application needs a recent colour photo of 3.5 × 2.5 cm on a light background, and online forms want it at 300 DPI and no larger than 50 KB. Add a photo and the tool crops it to that size with your face centred and the background made white.

The file is saved within the size limit automatically, and a print sheet lets you print copies for the paper form. Everything stays in your browser.

Good for

  • New PAN card applications (Form 49A / 49AA)
  • PAN corrections and reprints
  • Other Indian forms with 3.5 × 2.5 cm photos

Tip: The PAN signature is a separate upload — use Resize Signature to get it to 2 × 4.5 cm.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PAN card photo size?

3.5 × 2.5 cm (25 mm wide and 35 mm tall), in colour, on a white or light background. For online applications the scanned photo should be 300 DPI and no more than 50 KB.

Can I use this for NSDL (Protean) and UTIITSL?

Yes — both use the same size. Always check the latest instructions on the application site.

How is my face positioned?

The face is found automatically and the photo is framed so your head (chin to crown) has the size the rules ask for, with the right space above it. Drag the photo or use the zoom slider to fine-tune — the guide lines show where the crown and chin should be.

Can I change the background?

Yes. The person is separated from the background in your browser, and the background is replaced with white, off-white, light grey, blue, red or any colour. Choose “Keep the photo’s own” if your wall is already plain.

Can I print it at home or at a photo shop?

Yes. Choose “Print sheet” to get a 4 × 6 in (10 × 15 cm), 5 × 7 in or A4 sheet with as many copies as fit and thin cut lines — print it at actual size.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Face detection, background replacement and everything else run in your browser — your photo never leaves your device.
