or drag & drop a PDF here to start editing

How to edit a PDF

  1. Select or drop a PDF — its pages open in the editor, with a page list on the left.
  2. Pick a tool: Edit text to change existing words, Text, Image or Sign to add, or draw, highlight, white-out, link and comment. Fill in form fields right on the page.
  3. Move and resize anything, rotate or reorder pages, then click Save PDF to download the edited file.

About Edit PDF

Edit a PDF without special software. Click text that is already in the document to change it — the font style, size and colour are matched — or add new text anywhere, in three standard fonts with bold, italic, underline, colour, alignment and a background. Place images and your signature, draw boxes, circles, lines and arrows or freehand, highlight, underline or strike out text, cover things with white-out, add clickable links and sticky-note comments.

Fill in form fields right on the page, and organise pages from the page list: rotate, reorder, duplicate, delete, insert blank pages or pages from another PDF. Every change can be undone, and everything runs in your browser — your PDF is never uploaded.

Good for

  • Fixing a typo, date or name in a PDF
  • Filling in and signing forms
  • Marking up a document with highlights, notes and arrows

Tip: Double-click text you added to change it again, and use the arrow keys to nudge the selected item into place.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the text that is already in my PDF?

Yes. Choose Edit text and click any line: it becomes editable, with its font style, size and colour matched, and the original is covered with its own background colour. Scanned pages are pictures with no text to edit — use White-out and Text on those.

What can I add to a PDF?

Text in three standard fonts with size, colour, bold, italic, underline, alignment and background; images; your signature (drawn, typed or uploaded); boxes, circles, lines, arrows and freehand drawing; highlight, underline and strike-out; white-out boxes; clickable links to web addresses or pages; and sticky-note comments.

Can I fill in a PDF form?

Yes. Fillable fields are shown on the page — type into text fields, tick boxes and pick from lists. Tick “Lock filled fields” to make the answers part of the page. For forms without fields, just add text where the answers go.

Can I rotate, reorder, add or delete pages?

Yes. Use the page list: turn pages left or right, drag them into a new order, duplicate or delete them, insert blank pages, or add the pages of another PDF.

Will the text I add be selectable?

Yes. Added text is real PDF text that can be selected, copied and searched. Characters the standard PDF fonts don’t include, such as Hindi or Chinese, are added as a sharp picture instead.

Is white-out a secure redaction?

No — white-out covers content visually but the original stays in the file. For sensitive information, delete the page or convert it to images instead.

Can I undo a change?

Yes. Undo and redo (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y) cover every change, and nothing touches your original file until you save a new copy.

Does my PDF get uploaded while I edit?

No. Editing and saving both happen in your browser, so the document never leaves your device.
