Frequently asked questions

Can I see the tags of any YouTube video?

Yes — paste a public video link. The tags the creator added, plus the title, description, channel, views, length, upload date and category, are shown.

Why does a video show no tags?

Tags are optional and many creators don’t add them. YouTube says tags matter mostly for misspellings; titles, descriptions and thumbnails matter more.

What is the tag limit?

All tags together may use up to 500 characters. The tool counts them and checks title length, description length and hashtags (YouTube ignores all if there are more than 15).

Can I compare several videos?

Yes — paste up to 10 links to see the tags they share, ranked by how many videos use them, and download everything as CSV.

What is sent to your server?

The video ID, so our server can read the video's public page and return its tags, title and stats. Results are cached briefly so repeat lookups are faster.
