Everything works in your browser, so it is instant and private, and your settings are remembered on this device.
Good for
- Reading minified scripts and styles
- Cleaning up copied or generated code
- Making code consistent before a review
Tip: Use “One attribute per line” for HTML components with many attributes — diffs become much cleaner.
Frequently asked questions
Which languages can it format?
HTML (including inline CSS and scripts), CSS, SCSS and Less, JavaScript and TypeScript, JSON, XML and SVG, and SQL. Choose Auto and the language is detected from the code or the file name.
Can it un-minify code?
Yes — paste minified code (like a .min.js or .min.css file) and it is expanded into readable, indented code.
What do the brace styles mean?
“Same line” puts { at the end of the line (the most common JavaScript style), “Own line” puts it on the next line, and “Keep short blocks inline” leaves one-line blocks as they are.
Can I format several files?
Yes — open several files; each gets a tab, and you can download all the formatted files as a ZIP.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Everything is processed by JavaScript in your browser — nothing you paste or open is sent to a server, so it is safe for API responses, tokens, configs and customer data. It also works offline once the page has loaded.
